Information for new residents to update their change of address on the New Residents and Municipal website for the Lod 100,000 Project

Lod Municipality – You Count!

The Lod Municipality has recently launched the “You Count” project, intended for residents of the City of Lod, with the aim of encouraging and assisting residents to change their address on their Teudat Zehut Identity Cards to the City of Lod.

The City of Lod is expected to reach a population of 100,000 this year and is therefore encouraging residents to change their address and the address of their family members over the age of 18 on their Identity Cards.

Why is this important to you?

  • You will receive information specifically for residents of Lod.

  • You will enjoy a range of benefits currently being developed for those whose address is registered in Lod.

  • In emergency situations, it is important for us to know that you are a resident of the City.

  • When a city reaches 100,000 residents, it receives benefits and entitlements that the State of Israel grants to medium-sized cities. This will enable us to receive budgets and resources that will help improve the quality of life for residents (manpower, student benefits, subsidies, etc.).

How do you do this?

The process is relatively simple and can be done in one of the following ways:

Online

You must register with the national identification system, after which you can change your address via this link or in your personal government account online.

The updated ID card will be issued within 5 business days and sent to the address you updated. If you have a biometric ID card and password, you can also receive the supplement at one of the self-service kiosks located throughout the country and print the updated supplement.

At self-service kiosks located throughout the country

If you have a biometric ID card and a personal password (the password is provided when you obtain your ID card), you can change your address at the service kiosk and receive an official ID card supplement on the spot. If you do not have the password, you can verify your identity using a credit card registered in your name.

At the Population and Immigration Authority office

Print and fill out the application for change of address, submit it along with the ID card supplement of each person for whom the change is being made, and come in person to the Population and Immigration Authority office at 91 Herzl Street, Ramla, Kirya Building (to find offices in other cities, click here).

When you submit your application at the Authority office, a new ID card appendix will be printed for you on the spot. This service is available at the office without the need to make an appointment!

An address changes stand at the Lod Municipality on various dates

From time to time, a representative from the Lod Municipality works on specific days to handle this issue at a stand set up at the Municipality. Residents will be notified of this at the relevant time.
