Cell Phone Radiation

The Ministry of Environmental Protection conducts regular periodic inspections of all cell phone antennas located in the City of Lod.

The cellular communications network is one of the country's communications infrastructures. This communications network is wireless and based on radio wave transmission. Electromagnetic waves that spread from the transmission source (antenna) are received by a mobile phone. The mobile phone converts the electromagnetic wave into sound signals and enables communication. The mobile phone also converts the sound signals into electromagnetic waves that are transmitted through the antenna into the atmosphere. ​

Noise

The Environmental Unit conducts noise measurements at businesses, industrial areas, and public institutions.

Industrial Control

The Environmental Unit monitors and supervises industries in the City in the following areas:

  • Wastewater - The Environmental Unit conducts ongoing monitoring and control of industrial wastewater. In addition, in cases of improper treatment of industrial wastewater, the unit enforces and activates the appropriate treatment agencies.
  • Oversight of industrial emission monitoring results that were conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
  • Noise - Conducting noise measurements to prevent hazards.
  • Monitoring licenses and permits for those who handle hazardous materials.
