Medical assistants

Regular education students with medical needs that require routine invasive treatment or supervision in life-threatening situations should submit up-to-date material from a specialist doctor or refer directly to the department.

Assistance will be provided to students who require supervision due to a diagnosis of the conditions listed below, based on a current document from a specialist in the field only (pediatric allergist, pediatric neurologist):

  • Life-threatening allergy - to milk, peanuts, nuts, almonds, sesame, eggs, or fish, with clear documentation of the severity of the reaction and in combination with allergic asthma, which increases the future risk of an immediate life-threatening anaphylactic reaction - a current document is required.
  • Uncontrolled generalized epilepsy - meaning more than two seizures per month, of the myoclonic or generalized type, with severe (“grand mal”) seizures that cause falls - a current document from a neurologist is required.
  • Severe coagulation disorder with a tendency to uncontrolled bleeding - hemophilia, severe and exceptional hematological cases - a document from a hematologist is required.
  • Immediate life-threatening physical injury - such as after a pacemaker or organ transplant - a document from a cardiologist or specialist in the field is required.

Please note - in cases of permanent dietary restrictions such as celiac disease, or diseases requiring a special diet - eligibility will not be granted.

For your convenience, please find attached a link to the Director General's circular, which opens in a new window, on the subject of medical assistants in regular education.
