Northern Lod Employment and Business Area
The City of Lod is blessed with a strategic location in the heart of the country. The northern employment and business area of Lod is considered one of the most important and sought-after business centers in the country, due to its central location, proximity to Ben Gurion Airport, and the available land reserves in its vicinity. The business area is currently almost fully occupied, and as a result, the Lod Municipality is working to expand it and establish an additional employment and business area nearby, covering approximately 1.5 million square meters of commercial and business space.
As part of the planning, extensive development work will be carried out, including the paving of roads and sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and environmental improvement work. Among other things, the Municipality is promoting plans to establish a new entrance to the expanded northern employment and business zone, as well as a new train station, with the aim of promoting the economic leverage of the area. In addition, as part of the “Lod North” plan, an addition of over 1 million square meters of commercial, office, and industrial space is planned, deposited and promoted by the National Planning and Building Council (NPC) as part of the “Roof Agreement” signed between the Israeli government and the Lod municipality in 2017.
The expansion and consolidation of the Northern Industrial and business area will establish its status as one of the leading centers in the country, both in terms of volume of activity and in terms of its importance to the country's economy, as a gateway for imports and exports. All this, together with providing a diverse range of employment opportunities for the city's residents.
