The City of Lod views the variety of businesses operating in the city as an economic lever and a source of growth for the city.
Therefore, the Business Licensing Department works to encourage the opening of small and large businesses for the benefit of the city's residents and the surrounding area, while adhering to high standards and principles regarding environmental quality, sanitation and safety, prevention of disturbances, and maintaining a pleasant appearance of the business and its surroundings.
The Department's vision is to improve and streamline the licensing process and make it as easy as possible for business owners and those interested in opening new businesses, while adhering to the provisions of the Business Licensing Law and its objectives.
Areas of responsibility of the Business Licensing Department
- Assistance, guidance, and briefing on setting up businesses in the city.
- Guidance and obtaining a business license with a detailed explanation of the process.
- Issuing a business license / temporary permit
- Renewing a business license
- Monitoring existing businesses in the city
- The Business Licensing Department is responsible for managing all matters related to business licensing required by the Business Licensing Law of 1968, which explicitly defines the businesses to which the law applies.
- The Department provides training and information to citizens interested in opening businesses in the city.
- Responsibility for sanitary supervision in businesses.
- The Department is responsible for operating the licensing process.
