Shachar (Education and Welfare Services) Developmental Unit

  • The unit provides screening and assessment services, treatment, and individualized parental guidance for toddlers and children with developmental delays.
  • The professional staff includes therapists from various health professions: speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, developmental psychology, and social work.
  • The unit operates at the Oranim and Givat HaZayitim health clinics and at its own facility on 2 HaShayetet Street.
  • The unit is recognized by the Ministry of Health's Department of Child Development and Rehabilitation and operates in coordination with the city's health maintenance organizations.
  • The unit is operated for the Lod Municipality by the Pashar (Development of Welfare and Education Services) Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the National Program for Children and Youth at Risk (360), and JDC-Ashalim.

Mother and Child Health Clinics

There are five “Tipat Halav” - mother and child health clinics in Lod that provide services to young families in the city. The service is holistic and universal, providing preventive care for children from birth to age 6 and pregnant women, with a comprehensive view of the entire family, regardless of health insurance type.

The monitoring includes screening tests in the areas of child development, growth, vision, anemia prevention, detection of postpartum depression and domestic violence, and more. In addition, routine vaccinations are provided, as well as guidance in various areas such as nutrition for infants and pregnant women, safety and injury prevention, child development, and more.
