Special Education
The Special Education Department is a warm home for parents of children with special needs. The department provides personal contact and optimal solutions tailored to the children's abilities and the parents' satisfaction.
The department is responsible for all special education students aged 3-21 from all sectors – state, state religious, state Arab, and Haredi / Ultra-Orthodox.
The department interfaces and cooperates with various municipal units, including the Social Integration Division and the Psychological Service. It also cooperates with the Ministry of Education's Special Education Supervision Department and Mati'a Ma'ale (Special Education Support Center) and Nechmad (Lod Special Education Parents' Association) in order to provide a broad, comprehensive, and optimal response while integrating people with special needs into the community.
What services do we provide and what issues can we help with?
- Granting eligibility for special education (within the framework of eligibility and characterization committees), counseling and guidance in the field of individual response.
- Optimal placement according to the student's needs (within the framework of placement committees). Maintaining personal contact with families and parents as well as with educational frameworks.
- Support and monitoring of the integration of special education students in the city and outside the city.
Office hours: Telephone service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Office hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
