When?

Registration for schools, in accordance with the Compulsory Education Law for the 2025 school year, will begin on Wednesday, 7 Shvat 5775 (February 5, 2025) and end on Tuesday, 27 Shvat 5775 (February 25, 2025).

Where do you register?

Registration ages:

Registration is mandatory under the Compulsory Education Law for all children born between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

New residents:

In order to register for educational institutions in the city, you must provide the following forms:

1. Photocopy of ID card + full appendix (sefach) of both parents with their address in Lod.

2. Photocopy of rental/purchase contract in the City of Lod with date of entry into the apartment.

3. Cancellation of registration from the local authority from which you came.

If the parents are divorced, separated, or single, a signed attorney's affidavit must be attached to the registration process.

The attorney's affidavit form is available on the Lod Municipality website – Education Department.

Residents living with family:

An updated ID card appendix (sefach) with the family's address must be presented.

External studies for residents of the City of Lod:

Lod residents who go to study outside the city must submit a request for approval of an external tuition fee commitment from the Elementary Education Department by July 31 of that year.

After this date, the approval will be given without the authority's commitment to pay the external tuition fee.

Non-residents who wish to study in the City of Lod:

Registration is carried out exclusively through the Municipal School Department.

Students who wish to study in Lod and are not residents of the city must present an out-of-town study permit with a commitment to pay out-of-town fees from the Municipality in which they reside.

If the permit does not include a commitment to pay, out-of-town fees must be paid to the Lod Municipality.

Only then can the school registration process continue.

Registration of children in school registration areas:

The registration procedures, list of schools, registration areas, and streets are published in the registration notices.

Transfer requests:

As mentioned, school placement is based on registration areas. Parents who are interested in a school that is not in their area of residence should submit an online transfer request at the designated location during the registration process.

Transfer requests will be discussed by transfer committees that will meet during March and April.

Please note!

Registration does not oblige the Local Authority to accept the child into the requested school. Registration will only be valid after receiving written confirmation from the authority, which will be sent to your home. Registration after the registration date will be done on a space-available basis only - even during the appeals stage!
