When?

Registration will take place between February 5, 2025, and February 25, 2025, from Wednesday, February 5, 2025, to Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Please note! Even if your child is attending municipal kindergarten this year, you must re-register them.

Where do I register?

This year, registration will take place online - the fastest and most convenient way to register. The website will be open for registration during the registration period only.

*If your child is a student in an Haredi / Ultra-Orthodox or unofficial educational framework, registration is done through the institutions themselves.

After entering the registration portal, enter your child's and your own Teudat Zehut identity numbers. Once the details have been verified in the system, the registration candidate's details will be uploaded. Both parents' ID numbers must be registered in Lod. Follow the instructions and, at the end of the registration process, and make sure that the message “Your registration request has been accepted” appears.

 

New residents:

In order to register for educational institutions in the city, you must provide the following forms:

1. A photocopy of both parents' ID cards + full appendix (sefach) with the address listed in Lod.

2. A photocopy of a rental/purchase contract in the City of Lod with the date of moving into the apartment.

3. Cancellation of registration from the Local Authority from which you came.

If the parents are divorced, separated, or single, a signed attorney's affidavit must be attached to the registration process.

The attorney's affidavit form is available on the Lod Municipality website – Education Department.

Residents living with their family:

You must present an updated ID card with the family's address.

Registration Ages

Registration for compulsory kindergarten is in accordance with the Compulsory Education Law of 1949 and the State Education Law of 1953. For the 2020 school year, children born on the following dates will be registered:

 

5-year-olds for pre-compulsory kindergarten

Children born between the dates:

4 Tevet 5780 – January 1, 2020

16 Tevet 5781 – December 31, 2020

 

 

Ages 4 for pre-compulsory kindergarten

Children born between the dates:

17 Tevet 5781 – January 1, 2021

27 Tevet 5782 – December 31, 2021

 

 

Ages 3 for pre-pre-compulsory kindergarten

Children born between the dates:

28 Tevet 5782 – January 1, 2022

7 Tevet 5783 – December 31, 2022

* Children who are not potty trained in kindergarten - Potty training is important emotionally and socially. If your child is not potty trained, we ask that you complete the potty training process by the beginning of the school year.

Please note!

Registration does not oblige the Local Authority to accept the child into the requested kindergarten. Registration will only be valid after receiving written confirmation of admission from the authority. Confirmation of admission to the kindergarten will be sent to your home. It must be brought to the kindergarten on September 1, 2025. Registration after the registration date will be based on availability only - even during the appeals stage! Opinions of kindergarten teachers will not be accepted.
