The city's symbol was designed by Ze'ev Pevzner. It depicts the city's agricultural character, with furrows symbolizing its rural surroundings. Under the wide gate that opens to visitors, the words “And the children shall return to their own border” (from Jeremiah 31:16) are inscribed. Indeed, the city has been blessed, and many of the immigrants who returned to Israel have made their home here and found their livelihood.

The vision of the City of Lod: “A well-kept and safe city, a leader in the social and educational fields, whose residents are proud to live there, and which is a magnet for a high-quality population in the heart of the country.”

The Municipality's vision: “The Lod Municipality will operate as an efficient organization that puts its residents at the center of its activities, provides quality services, and views its employees as an extremely important human resource.”

The goals of the Municipal Vision:

  • Retaining young people in the city, developing affordable housing, and attracting new and stable populations, making it attractive to young people and new residents and stopping negative migration from the city;
  • Accelerated economic growth based on turning Lod into a destination for visitors and entrepreneurs and a center for business, employment, and industry;
  • Lod as a central district city, enjoying a huge advantage thanks to its location in the center of the country and its accessibility to major transportation routes;
  • Transforming Lod into a tourist attraction – developing tourist routes and increasing domestic tourism;
  • Upgrading the city's status and image in the eyes of its residents and the citizens of Israel;
  • Lod as a “City of Education” that promotes innovation and educational entrepreneurship and advances higher education.
  • Lod as a multicultural and diverse city, an open and pluralistic city, a symbol of coexistence based on values of tolerance, understanding, and mutual respect.
  • Improving the quality of municipal management, a resident-friendly, efficient, proactive, creative, and innovative municipality that provides a high level of service to its residents.
  • A safe city for its residents that maintains law and order within its boundaries.
