Assets Department - Allocation of Land and Buildings
The Assets Department in the Finance Division of the Lod Municipality is responsible for the following areas
- Management of the municipal assets registry.
- Management of municipal real estate, including land, public buildings, education, offices, etc.
- Representing the Municipality in land settlement proceedings.
- Handling expropriations - purchasing land for public purposes in accordance with the Planning and Building Law and the Land Law, based on valid and planned urban building plans.
- Handling the registration of municipal rights and land registration with the Land Registrar and the Israel Land Authority.
- Reviewing urban building plans to ensure public rights within the framework of the allocations required for public needs.
- Managing the Municipality’s contractual engagements in relation to municipal properties: rental, lease, sale and purchase, leasehold and tenancy, and eviction arrangements.
- Collection/payment of rent, electricity, and water payments from external parties.
- Supervision of property use and ongoing expenses vis-à-vis the Israel Electric Corporation, Mey Lod, etc.
- Coordination of requests for the allocation of land/buildings for public purposes vis-à-vis the municipal allocation committee and the council plenary.
- Preparation and updating of the allocation book in accordance with the land allocation procedure.
- Supervision of the use of allocated properties.
