Dear Residents,

The City of Lod has over 5,000 years of history. Its unique location in the center of the Land of Israel attracted our biblical ancestors.  Throughout history, it has been ruled by Christians and Muslims, with the Turkish sultans leaving behind a wealth of architectural monuments.

Lod returned to Jewish hands during the War of Independence when Commando Battalion 89, commanded by Moshe Dayan, liberated it during Operation Dani.

Lod's central location, close to Israel's air gateway, is further emphasized by the road and interchange system that has shortened distances and travel times: it is only a 10-minute drive from Lod to Tel Aviv and about 30 minutes to Jerusalem.

All municipal officials have been instructed to place you, the city's residents, at the center of their activities, with the aim of providing you with the best possible service, as befits a public service system that puts the public's welfare first and strives to strengthen public confidence in the city and the municipality.

We will continue to make every effort to achieve our goals of making Lod a thriving, prosperous, beautiful, and developed city that has succeeded in realizing its tremendous potential and shaping a strong community in the center of the country, with the aim of strengthening the connection between the residents and the municipality, and more importantly, between the residents and the City of Lod.

There is no doubt that the Internet, which is the most advanced information technology, occupies an important place in everyday life and serves as an effective tool in almost every home in Israel.

For your convenience, dear residents, the Municipality's official website allows us to streamline our services and provide you with quick and efficient access to the various municipal offices, as well as a source of up-to-date information, news, events, public announcements, up-to-date and important telephone numbers of municipal departments and divisions, useful information about educational institutions, public institutions, and various relevant bodies, information about the city, historical sites, and more.

The site also serves as an effective, interesting, useful, and appropriate source of information, and as an additional channel of communication through which you can write to me directly about any matter, ask questions, request additional information, make comments, and receive quick and detailed responses to your inquiries. We welcome your suggestions for improvement and additional ideas.

The site also contains the story of Lod in the past and present, and we encourage you to explore the city's fascinating history and visit its unique sites.

In the spirit of progress and innovation, we wish you an enjoyable and interesting visit to the official website of the city of Lod.

Sincerely

Yair Revivo
